Editing Your 1:1 Videos
Editing the messages you record for 1:1 Personal Videos is as easy as editing any other video in your portal. Here, we'll walk through the steps and review the different functions you can utilize.
Step 1. Record Your Video
Log in, navigate to 1:1, and record your video. If you need a refresher, check out our step-by-step 1:1 article and come back!
Step 2. Open Your Video Editor
Underneath your recorded video preview, you will see a second button labeled Edit Video. Click on this and a window will appear that looks very similar to the traditional Video Library editor we all know and love.
Step 3. Explore the Editing Toolbar
You have several options when it comes to editing a video, some of which you may utilize and other you might not need. They include:
- Thumbnail: Choose which frame of your video will represent the recording. This is useful if you opt for a static thumbnail option in your email. You can either select from pre-selected snapshots, scrub through your video to find the perfect frame, or upload your own image!
- Caption: ALWAYS caption your video to take steps towards accessibility. Find more information in our article about captioning.
- Trim: Snip off the ends of your video at the beginning or end. This is a real trim, so when you download your video it will maintain the edits.
- Rotate: Sometimes videos are recorded upside down or sideways (typically on mobile). Use this to rotate your video 90, 180, or 270 degrees.
- Crop: Remove the black bars from your video for a cleaner feel.
- Download: Your video will appear in another tab where you're able to right-click and Save As to your computer.
- Delete: Remove the video from your portal completely.
Step 4. Edit Your Metadata
The right side of the editor window consists of multiple fields you can fill in if you desire to keep track of metadata or add information for organizational purposes. The fields you can edit here are:
- Recipient: Use to keep track of who the video is for.
- Folder: Use this dropdown to move the video to an existing folder in your larger Video Library.
- Tags: Add tags for easy searching and identification.
- Description: Use this to describe the contents of the video.
Step 5. Save Your Details
Scroll down in the window and click Save Details. Don't forget to do this; otherwise, they will not be captured. Exit out of the window when you're done. Remember, your 1:1 videos will appear in both your 1:1 Video Library and your overarching portal's Video Library. Because of this, you have the ability to edit the above videos elements from both of those areas!
