Navigating the Video Library

Your Video Library houses all of the videos that live in your portal - this can be videos you've recorded directly into campaigns, or ones that you've uploaded directly to the library. Learning how to organize your videos is a great way to ensure that your campaign-creation efforts are sustainable in the long-term, so let's learn our way around!

Video Library Toolbar

Your Video Library includes a toolbar that helps you search, filter, and sort videos by specific criteria. Here’s a breakdown of the tools available:

  • Search Bar: Quickly find videos by entering keywords from their titles.
  • User Filter: Filter videos created by a specific user. This filter defaults to All Users
  • Sort Dropdown: Reorder videos by creation date (default), title, modification date, or duration.
  • Grid/List View Button: Switch between a thumbnail grid view (default) and list view for easy browsing.

Video Folders

Your Video Library also comes equipped with four proprietary folders that can be found in the left-hand sidebar.

  • All: this will show you all videos uploaded and recorded into your profile.
  • Favorites: any videos in your library that you’ve marked with the star icon will appear here, this is a great way to mark videos you plan to use frequently!
  • Replies: this is where any videos that have been submitted through Video Request campaigns or standard campaigns with video replies enabled.
  • Archive: you can move videos to this area to remove them from your main library without deleting them.

Moving Videos into Folders

You can place your videos into folders using two methods:

  • Video Library page: when you hover over a video thumbnail, a box will appear that you are able to check. Once one, or multiple videos are selected, a dropdown will appear below the search bar called Move To. Clicking this will allow you to search for and select a designated folder for the video(s).
  • Edit View of a video: if you click the edit icon on a video in your Library, the fourth field visible will say Folder. Use this dropdown to designate which folder this specific video will belong to.

Creating Folders

As a Pro or Premium client, you also have the ability to create your own folders. These folders are an awesome way to organize and keep track of videos that will be used for specific purposes or in certain campaigns.

To create a new folder, click the blue Create a Folder button below the divider in the left-hand folder sidebar. If you click the ellipses beside a folder, you have ability to Rename and Delete the folder. Deleting will not delete the videos from your library, only the folder that stores them.

Video Library Actions

The thumbnail card of a video in your Video Library contains several different options, from here you can:

  • Edit Video: enter the edit page by pressing the pencil and paper icon. Learn more about editing below.
  • Star a Video: add a video to your favorites folder by pressing the star icon.
  • Download Video: if you click the ellipses menu, you have the ability to download the video to your desktop as a file.
  • Archive Video: add the video to you archives folder, removing it from your main page but not deleting it.
  • Delete Video: permanently delete the video from your Video Library.
  • Create a Copy: duplicate the desired video.

Note: Creating a copy can come in handy if you receive a video reply that you wish to edit and use in future campaigns!

Editing Videos

To edit videos and their metadata in your Video Library, the Edit icon on a video (looks like pencil and paper) will give you a suite of controls below your video preview, and other fields that you can revise.

The controls below your preview are as follows:

  • Thumbnail: Choose which frame of your video will represent the recording. This is useful if you opt for a static thumbnail option in your email. You can either select from pre-selected snapshots, scrub through your video to find the perfect frame, or upload your own image!
  • Caption: ALWAYS caption your video to take steps towards accessibility. Find more information in our article about captioning.
  • Trim: Snip off the ends of your video at the beginning or end. This is a real trim, so when you download your video it will maintain the edits.
  • Rotate: Sometimes videos are recorded upside down or sideways (typically on mobile). Use this to rotate your video 90, 180, or 270 degrees.
  • Crop: Remove the black bars from your video for a cleaner feel.
  • Download: Your video will appear in another tab where you're able to right-click and Save As to your computer.
  • Delete: Remove the video from your portal completely.

The metadata fields on the right of this area are:

  • Title: edit the name of your video to something recognizable.
  • Creator / Date Created: you cannot edit these.
  • Folder: select a folder to house this video.
  • Tags: help categorize your videos by tagging them.
  • Description: add more information about the contents of your video.

Adding Videos

You have a few different options when it comes to adding videos directly to your Video Library. In the top right-hand corner, you will see a button that says +Add or Combine Videos. Click this and you'll see four options. The first three relate to adding videos:

  • Record: use your webcam to record a video directly into your portal!
  • Upload: upload an existing video file from your computer to use in campaigns.
  • Request: this leads you to a Video Request campaign, where you can request videos be recorded by others and sent to your Video Library for future use in campaigns.

Combining Videos

Combining videos is a more advanced editing technique you can use when you have multiple videos in your portal you'd like to play in succession.

  1. Click the +Add or Combine Videos button, select Combine
  2. Unchecked selection bubbles will appear in the corners of your videos, select the videos you would like to combine, in order, and you'll see their thumbnails appear above your grid.
  3. Once you're satisfied, click the blue Confirm Selections button above your thumbnails.
  4. A box will appear where you can name your new combined video and also select no transitions, or a crossfade transition. You'll be able to preview either with the Preview link beside the transition option.
  5. Your new video will appear as the most recent video in your Library!
