Beginner's Guide: ThankGiving Campaigns

The days of donation links and form-embedding are over!  With ThankGiving, you can collect donations quickly and easily, directly from your Landing Page! In addition to sending personalized videos to connect with your donors, you’re now able to build engaging custom forms with built-in donation tracking, so you can receive gifts and thank your donors all in one place!

ThankGiving is essentially everything you love about ThankView, with more than a few added benefits, including:

  • The ability for donors to give in as few as 3 clicks with mobile (all major cards and alternative payment methods accepted)
  • Fundraising leaderboards to help your team track their progress
  • A donation tracker in your Metrics (check ROI in real-time!)

Configuring the Integration

  1. Log into your ThankView portal > Settings > Integrations & APIs.
  2. Scroll down and copy your ThankView Client ID and API Key.
  3. Log into your Givebutter account > Account Settings > Integrations > click Expand in the ThankView box.
  4. Enter your ThankView Client ID and Client Secret (which is the API Key).
  5. Scroll down and click Expand in the Givebutter box.
  6. Copy your Givebutter API Key.
  7. Return to your ThankView portal and click Connect+ in the Givebutter section.
  8. Paste your Givebutter API Key.

Creating Your ThankGiving Campaign 

This step-by-step guide will teach you everything you need to know about creating ThankGiving campaigns for the purpose of soliciting donations and then sending follow-up Thank You's to your donors. There are four distinct steps:

Step 1. Givebutter: Create a Page Campaign

  1. Log into your Givebutter account > Raise > click New Campaign.
  2. Click Start a Page.
  3. Give your campaign a short, actionable title, then click Create Campaign.
  4. Fill out your campaign details. This content will appear below your video on your ThankGiving landing page, so be thorough.

Step 2. ThankView: Create an Appeals / Solicitations Campaign and map it to your Givebutter Page Campaign

  1. Log into your ThankView portal and create an Appeals & Solicitations campaign. Click here to learn how.
  2. Go to the Page section. 
  3. Under the Add a Link, Display a PDF, Embed a Form (Optional) heading, mark Link to ThankGiving Campaign.
  4. Select your Givebutter campaign from the dropdown.

Step 3. ThankView: Create a Thank You Campaign

  1. While in your ThankView portal, create a Thank You campaign. Click here to learn how. 

Step 4. Givebutter: Map your Page Campaign to your ThankView Thank You Campaign

  1. Return to your Givebutter account > Account Settings > Integrations > click Expand in the ThankView box.
  2. Under Campaign Mapping, locate your Givebutter Page campaign and click Expand.
  3. From the dropdown, select the ThankView Thank You campaign you just created and click Save.

If your Thank You campaign is not appearing in the dropdown, click the refresh icon. Sometimes it takes a few minutes.
